Shawn Zipprich

Shawn Zipprich, 53, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, formerly of Roxana, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

He was born on February 18, 1967, in Alton, IL, the son of Harlan and Mary (Farmer) Zipprich. He attended Roxana CUSD #1 and graduated Class of 1985.

Shawn worked as a glass installer for Glass America. He was a member of Enjoy Church. Shawn also enjoyed wrestling, boating, riding his motorcycle, hanging with family and friends, and so much more. Shawn was a hero to so many, a friend to all and a fierce protector to those he cared for. Shawn was a rare person to come by, he was kind-hearted, energetic and loved like no other.

Survivors include his father Harlan (Sherrell); children, Eric (Katy), Brittney, and Kyle Zipprich; a precious grandson that he treasured, George Zipprich; his siblings, Ronnie, Jeff (Julie), Cheri (Fallon) Overmeyer; a step-brother, Jacob Knuckles; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary, and by a brother, Michael (Mikey) Zipprich.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021, from 1 pm to 5 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 10 am. Pastor Daren Carstens will officiate. The entombment will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
