Shelly L. Raby, nee Gerke, 56, of Belleville, IL, born Tuesday, June 23, 1970, in Festus, MO, passed away peacefully Monday, October 12, 2026 at her residence in Belleville, IL surrounded by family.
Shelly had a love for dogs and summertime, finding happiness in the warmth of sunny days and the companionship of her beloved four-legged friends.
In her past, Shelly worked as an insurance broker for Ev Bovinette, where she dedicated her time and talents to her profession. She had a deep faith in God which was an important part of her life.
She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for the memories they shared and the special place she held in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Mother, Sandra L. Gerke
- Maternal grandparents, Jessie and Geraldine, nee Resse, Boyer
Surviving are her:
- Husband, Carl Raby
- Father, Thomas Gerke of O Fallon, IL
- Mother-in-law, Doris Langin of Wood River, IL
- Uncle, Lonnie Boyer
- Aunt, Cheryl Stewart

Memorial Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL with Pastor Gage Krebs officiating.
