Stanley Hurst

Stanley “Stan” David Hurst, 74, of Swansea, IL, born January 20, 1952, in Lake Charles, LA, died Thursday, October 22, 2026, at his residence.

Stan worked as a sheet metal worker until his retirement. Later, he worked for Lloyds Appliance Store. Stan was a member of the Teamster Local #50. He loved collecting stuff, was an avid dog lover, and a musician.

He was preceded in death by his son, David J. Hurst; his parents, Stanley C. and Rose Marie, nee Bour, Hurst; and a niece, Jennifer Nicholson.

Surviving are his brother, Gary R. (Jane) Hurst of Marissa, IL, two sisters, Donna Hurst Nicholson of Breese, IL, and Carol R. (Randy) Campbell of Carlyle, IL; six nieces and nephews, Khara Hurst, Gary Douglass Hurst, Lauren Nicholson, Kaeden Campbell, Bradley Campbell, and Adam Campbell; and many dear cousins, second cousins, and very close friends.

According to Stanley’s wishes, cremation services were held.
