Teresa Ann Cherry, 43, passed away 1:15 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.

She was born June 29, 1972 in Alton, the daughter of Charlene (Grant) Cherry of Cottage Hills and Randy Phillips, Sr. of Texas.

Teresa loved life.  She was an active member of Whitelaw Baptist Church. She loved helping others and had earned degrees or certificates as a Certified Hemodialyes Technician, Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and Certified Medical Assistant.

When not working, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping, fishing, and even under the car or truck covered in oil.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her step-father, Kenneth Cherry; grandfather, Lindell Phillips of Bethalto; son, William Kampmann, Jr, III of South Roxana; daughter, Victoria Kampmann of Cottage Hills; five grandchildren, Brooke Phillips, Joseph, Andrew and Isaiah Kampmann, Haylie Holland; two brothers, Randy Phillips, Jr. of Oklahoma, Kenneth Cherry, Jr. of South Roxana; two sisters, Marcy Vetter of East Alton, Amber Phillips and Elizabeth Hernadez both of Texas; and dearly loved fiance', John Gleason.

Preceding in death were grandparents, Elizabeth A. Grant, George L. Grant and Mabel Phillips.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Whitelaw Baptist Church in Wood River.  Rev. Richard Newcom will officiate.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
