Terry L. McCree, passed away at 12:06 pm Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home in Bethalto.
He was born on June 29, 1954, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Billy Joe and Naomi Lou (Brown) McCree.
He married Yvonne Tidwell on February 3, 1987 in Alton. She survives.
Terry loved music, especially the guitar. He was a member of First Christian Church in Bethalto where he was very involved with playing music for and with the youth group. He taught music lessons at Blue Moon Music in Bethalto and was a frequent visitor to Halpin Music in Alton. Terry loved playing music for people.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Terry Joe McCree of PA, Jeffery McCree of PA, April McCree of AL, Nicolas and Skye Edington of IN, and Christie and Patrick Helminger of Bethalto; 4 siblings and their spouses Dave and Lynn McCree of AR, June and Paul Edington of IN, Debbie and Glen Harvey of AL, and JoNell Clark of AL; a granddaughter Bryn Helminger; a grandson Parker on the way; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 1 pm until time of service at 2:30 pm at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Pastor Tony Jackson officiating.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
