Thomas Moore

Thomas M. Moore, 78, passed away at 6:37 am on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in St. Charles, MO, with his family by his side.

He was born on August 27, 1934 in Orange, NJ the son of the late Martin and Dorothy (McMickle) Moore.

He married Marjorie Connell on November 10, 1956 in Medford, MA, and she survives.

Tom was employed by Allstate Insurance Company from 1959 to 1984 and then worked for Millers Mutual Insurance as Senior Vice President in charge of Insurance Operations until he retired in 1996. He was a member of Lockhaven Country Club and was on the Board of Directors for Lockhaven. He was also on the Board of Directors at St. Anthony’s Health Center, Executive Committee and Chairman of the Finance Committee of St. Anthony’s Health Center. Tom was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Margi, four sons and spouses Michael Moore of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Timothy Moore of Godfrey, Steven (Amy) Moore of Reno, NV, David (Ginny) Moore of Glendale, MO; nine grandchildren; Danny, Joe, Emily and fiancé Nick Knight, Tom, Chris, Katherine, Danielle, Holly, Jack Moore, and one sister Patricia Karg of Coconut Creek, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In celebration of his life a Visitation will be held Friday July 26, 2013 from 4 to 7 pm at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday July 27, 2013 at St. Ambrose Church in Godfrey with Father Steve Pohlman officiating.

Cremation will follow per his wishes. 

Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Anthony’s Health Center Foundation of Alton.
