Verna Davis

Verna J. Davis, 73, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
  Born January 2, 1943 in Virden, she was a daughter of the late Elmer R. and Ruby (Mincemeyer) McNish.
  Verna married James C. Davis on February 6, 1965 in Cottage Hills and he survives.
  She was a homemaker and mother of three daughters, Barbara A. Davis of Hartford, Donna J. and Jim Rambo of New Concord, Kentucky, Laura and Michael Bosomworth of Oneida; five grandchildren, James, Rachel, Joshua, Rebbecca, Laurabeth; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth and David Gresham of Chunky, Mississippi.
  Besides her parents, Laura was preceded in death by one brother, John McNish.
  A celebration of Laura's life will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 and will continue until service time of 7:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River. Officiating will be Associate Pastor Bob Tracey  .
  A committal service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the chapel of Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
  Memorials may be given to the family.
