Wanda Stromske

Wanda Lee (Stice) Stromske 78, of Alton, passed away Wednesday September 7, 2016 at Robings Manor in Brighton, IL, with her family by her side.

She was born in Alton on November 16, 1937, the daughter of the late Thomas T. and Loetta Francis (Leitze) Stice.

Wanda married Edward Dale Stromske on August 23, 1958 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Alton; they have celebrated 58 yrs of marriage. He survives.

Wanda was a cosmetologist in the Alton area, where she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling and golfing but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children and their spouses; Alan and Jill Stromske of Wood River, Deborah and Scott Goforth of Alton and Mark and Karen Stromske of Indiana, two siblings and their spouses; Carol and Doug Upple of Wood River and Thomas J. and Kathy Stice of Godfrey, two brother-in-laws and their wives; James and Nancy Stromske and David and Judy Stromske, and a sister-in-law; Patty Stromske, eleven grandchildren; Patrick and Kelli Squires, Greg and  Francesca Eales, Melissa Hampsey, Nicholas Stromske, Lauren and T.J. Seymour, Courtney  Goforth, Casey Bowman, Daniel Stromske, Dylan Coleman, Jacob Coleman and Tessa Stromske, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws; Stanley and Gert

 Stromske, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Jean and Thomas Stromske .

In celebration of her life visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Masses of Christian burial will be at 10 am, Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Father Godfrey Mullen as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, in Godfrey, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
