Warren Eden Allen, 90, died at 5:40 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012 on the family farm with his family by his side.

He was born on April 20, 1922 in Grafton, and was the only child born to the late Lawrence & Birdie Cecilia (LaMarsh) Allen

He graduated from Jersey Township High School and spent a year and half with his crew of nine men in the U.S. Army Air Corp, stationed with troops from the U.S. and England during World War II.  Upon his honorable discharge he resumed working the family farm just outside of Grafton.  In 1950, he began work at the Godfrey Box Board where he retired in 1990.

He married the former Eileen Helen Gibbons on Sept. 19, 1946 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and they have been blessed with 66 years together and a large, loving family.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen Allen; their seven children & their spouses, Michael W. & Debby Allen of Jerseyville,Nancy and Bruce Hugon of Lawrence, In., Larry Allen of Grafton, Judi Hellman of St. Louis, Mo., Tim & Donna Allen of New Iberia, La., Terri & Randy Taake of Jerseyville, and Beth Siegfried of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter in law, Penny Allen of Jerseyville; 27 grandchildren and their spouses, Zeb, Abbi and Sarah Allen, Ben Hugon, Seth & Stacy Allen, Dustin Elliott, Josh & Gretchen Allen, R.J. & Hannah (Allen) Lancaster, Frances and Sam  Allen, Jon & Jennifer (Hellman) Novotney,Cole, Mary Claire, and Connor Hellman, Chad & Christine Evans, Dawn Derouen, Marc Allen, Eddie & Lacy (Allen) Decoux, Curt & Courtney (Taake) Schroeder, Jake & Katie (Taake) Maurer, Erin, Zack, Tanner and Megan Taake, Ellen, Christian and Meredith Siegfried; 18 Great Grandchildren, Caleb and Noah Allen, Jacob Elliott, Ashley Scott and Gavin Allen, Kaelynne, Mila and Finley Lancaster, Coy, Cohen and Charley Evans, Macie, Dawson, Miley & Dakota Derouen, and Rock, Rainey and Scarlett Maurer; his sister in law, T. Ann Krepel of Alton; a brother in law, Patrick Gibbons of Mercer Island, Wa. Along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Hellman; and his dear brothers and sisters in law, Herb & Maurita Gibbons, Johnny and Margaret Hickey, Dorothy Haegele, Joe and Katherine Hackworth, Paul and Rosalie Gibbons and Raymond and Agnes Schell.

In celebration of his life, Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton, with Father Patrick Gibbons and Father William Hembrow officiating. Burial will be at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.

Memorials may be given to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton, where he was a lifelong member and active for many years with the parish annual picnic.
