William Randolph "Randy" Hartnett, 75, passed away 2:40 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Alton on March 19, 1940, he was the son of William Patrick and Maxine (Brickey) Hartnett.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-64. He went to work for Greyhound, working overseas in Saudi Arabia until he retired. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Phoenix, AZ.
He enjoyed traveling and dancing.
Suriving are a son, Timothy (Kim) Hartnett; daughters, Pamela Vegh and Patricia "Boo" (Danny) Tichenal; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Michael R., Sr. (Kim) Hartnett; sister, Phyllis Yingst; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; a brother, Steve; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth preceded in death.
In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation and Service will begin at 1 p.m until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
