William Wright

William “Bill” R. Wright, 89, affectionately known as “Willie” passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born July 21, 1935, in Huntington, WV, he was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Dewey Wright and Luella Mae (Winters) Wright; two brothers, Richard A. Wright and David L. Wright; and a sister, Janet Clark.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Joan M. Wright; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend, Greg Graham.

Bill “Willie” had served in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was known for his uncanny sense of humor and his compassion for cats and dogs.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday January 14, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

According to William’s wishes, cremation services were held.

Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI, at a later date.
