After nearly a year of work, WRJM newstalk radio's new expanded coverage FM repeater at 96.1 went on the air today, replacing its 107.1 repeater that went on the air in December 2011 covering Coles County from one of WRJM's 170-foot towers on the northwest side of Charleston.
The new WRJM FM 96.1 repeater transmits from a 350-foot tower south of Lerna in Coles County, and the new signal covers all or parts of Coles, Edgar, Cumberland, Clark, and Jasper counties in east central Illinois.

WRJM's 107.1 FM signal will remain on the air thru the end of the month, and then go off the air August 1st. FM listeners to WRJM programming should move their dials from 107.1 to the expanded signal at 96.1 by July 31st.
WRJM's newstalk, agriculture, and sports programming is also heard in those same counties on 1270 AM, and streamed on-line at wrjmdailynews.com.
WRJM is part of the Miller Media Group, that also owns radio stations that serve Taylorville, Pana, Shelbyville, and Clinton.
