Scherzer Picks Up 20th Win As Tigers Rout White Sox

Max Scherzer picked up his elusive 20th win of the season as the Tigers rolled to a 12-5 win over the White Sox at Comerica Park. Scherzer allowed three runs over six innings and moved to 20-and-3 on the season. Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer and Torii Hunter went 4-for-5 with three RBI. Prince Fielder and Andy Dirks each knocked in a pair for Detroit, which has won five out of six and lowered its magic number to clinch the AL Central down to three. Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI for Chicago. Dylan Axelrod was charged with seven runs in less than three innings and fell to 4-and-10. The Sox have lost two straight.
