State Plans Fee for ATV Owners

The state plans to slap a new fee on owners of all-terrain vehicles.  The 15-dollar annual fee for an ATV permit is expected to generate up to 800-thousand-dollars a year to be used for law enforcement and upgrading off-road trails.  Owners of golf carts will be exempt as will some farmers and ranchers who use ATVs on their own property.  The new fee is expected to kick in January 1.
