The Cubs scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally and beat the Braves 3-1 at Wrigley Field. Anthony Rizzo doubled in a run and later scored for Chicago, which has won two-of-three. Travis Wood gave up a run while striking out seven in seven-plus innings for a no-decision. Carlos Villanueva picked up the win while Pedro Strop locked up his first save. Kris Medlen struck out six in seven-and-a-third innings of one-run ball. Scott Downs took the loss. Freddie Freeman scored the only run for Atlanta, which has lost four-of-six overall. The Braves' magic number to clinch the NL East is one.
