Another elected official from Illinois is urging lawmakers to back same-sex marriage because it will be an economic boost for the state. In a statement released over the weekend from Illinois House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie she contends same-sex marriage is a matter of equality. The Democrat wrote to colleagues quote, "Illinois has been missing out on this economic opportunity" in reference to the new ad campaign by the Mayor of Minneapolis urging gays to get married in Minnesota.
