The National Guard could be called in to help combat crime on the streets of Chicago. Governor Quinn says he’s open to the idea as a means of keeping people safe, particularly after two gunmen opened fire at a park last week, injuring 13 people. Police say the gunmen used military-style assault rifles. Quinn has been pushing for a ban on the rifles but gun-rights advocates say banning the guns would violate their Second Amendment rights. Quinn says something must be done to get the city’s crime rate under control.
