Romulus Woman Arrested After Allegedly Falsely Reporting Stolen Vehicle

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office report that on 9-18-13 at approx 311am Sheriff Deputies arrested Tonya M Brooks age 26 of 1721 Kuney Rd, Romulus NY for Falsely
Reporting an incident in the 3^rd Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2^nd Degree, Operating a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device and Speed Not Reasonable. The charges stem from a property damage accident that occurred on
ST RT 96 in the Town of Fayette, Brooks reported to the Deputies investigating
the scene that her vehicle was stolen and crashed by unknown operators. During
an investigation it was determined that Brooks was operating the vehicle and
lied to Deputies to avoid arrest. Brooks was arraigned in the Town of Waterloo
Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of
$750.00 cash bail or $1,500.00 secured bond. Brooks is scheduled to reappear in
the Town of Fayette Court on October 2^nd 2013 at 7 pm to
answer for the charges.
