Fire Call Ends in Marijuana Bust in Phelps

The Seneca County Sheriff's Office reports that Deputies arrested Shannon P. Green, 39, of 1272 W. Townline Rd Phelps NY on one count of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd degree(class D Felony).

Deputies state that on Sunday 9-22-13 at about 10am they were called to a possible structure fire on West Townline Rd by the Junius Fire department. Once deputies arrived on scene it was ascertained that there was no fire present, however Deputies and witnesses detected an odor of marijuana emminating fom the garage where the reported fire was. Deputies continued their investigation and obtained a search warrant from the Town of Junius Court . Upon executing the search warrant Deputies uncovered numerous marijuana plants in the garage that were arranged to dry out before processing. Further investigation revealed another structure on the property that also contained another quantity of marijuana that was d rying. Green was taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of Junius Court in front of Justice Erway. Green was committed to the Seneca County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 insured bond. Green is due back in the Town of Junius Court on 9/26/13 at 1pm for a felony hearing
