Design Team Selected For Multi-Modal Project

Juneau Associates, Incorporated has been selected as the design team that will take the Multi-Modal Transportation Center development from concept to reality. The Alton City Council Committee of the Whole gave preliminary approval to Juneau at last night's meeting. The move is expected to get final approval at tomorrow night's full council meeting.

Alton Mayor Brant Walker recently signed agreements with the Federal Railroad Administration to obligate the TIGER Grant funding for the project. He says while both sides hammer out a price, survey work will begin.

In other committee business, an agreement between the city and former Director of Development and Housing Phil Roggio was okayed, officially bringing him on-board to help oversee the Multi-Modal project. That must still meet with full council approval, which is expected to come tomorrow night.
