The holiday hiring season by retailers isn't expected to be as bright this year. The consulting firm of Challenger, Gray & Christmas predicts that stores and distribution centers will likely add nearly 666-thousand workers from October 1st to December 31st. That's a decrease of 11-percent from last year. John Challenger says retailers are getting smarter about staffing and are more accurately predicting the ebbs and flows in sales activity and adjusting their hiring.
