Illinois has lost one of its oldest residents. Glen Brown was 105 when he passed away at Heartland Health Care, in Moline, on Saturday. He lived in Viola but was well-known throughout Mercer County. He’d become somewhat of a celebrity thanks to his age. He was also an avid Chicago White Sox fan and had a chance to make it to Opening Day last year. Brown was also a longtime fixture of harness racing at the Mercer County Fair. He graduated from St. Ambrose University with the Class of 1929, and up until his death, was the oldest living graduate of the university.
