2 injured in manhole accident in Kingston

In area news, emergency agencies responded to Illini Farms in Kingston yesterday evening after a 47-year old man fell into a manhole.

The farm is located in the 11,000 block of Baseline Road in DeKalb County.

The man was extricated from the manhole which was about 15 to 18 feet deep.

2 other employees at Illini Farms had gone into the hole prior to emergency personnel arriving on the scene.

The victim was airlifted by helicopter from the scene to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford for treatment of his injuries. He had apparently been in the manhole for over 2 hours.

1 other worker was also treated for his injuries at an area hospital.
