The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys golf team competed in the sectional tournament at Beechwood Golf Club Tuesday.
Russia won due to a 5th man tie break with a 332. West Liberty-Salem placed second with a 332. Rounding out the advancing teams were Anna with a 348 and Franklin Monroe with a 350.
Nick Sims fired an 81, Jacob Rutan shot an 83, Ethan McBean and Kannon Stillings each carded an 84, and Casey Gay added a 97.
For Triad, Seth Donahoe was the medalist with a 77 and Mechanicsburg's Mack Cushman qualified for Districts with an 84.
The Tigers are 79-3 on the season and will compete in the district tournament at Weatherwax Golf Course on Thursday, October 3rd.
The Benjamin Logan girls golf team concluded their season at the Division II sectional at Weatherwax Golf Course on Monday.
Sophomore standout Morgan Fultz led the Raiders with a 95.
Brittney Smucker, Anna Plogger, and Eden Plogger also competed.
