Jason Giambi hit a walkoff two-run homer off of Addison Reed in the ninth to send the Indians to a 5-4 win over the White Sox last night in Cleveland. Dayan Viciedo and Alejandro De Aza each homered in the top half of the inning to give Chicago the lead. Addison Reed blew the save and took the loss.
The White Sox play their final game away from home tonight against the Indians. Chicago sends Dylan Axelrod to the mound while Cleveland counters with Danny Salazar. The Tribe has a one-game lead for the AL's final Wild Card spot. First pitch is set for 6:05.
Infielder Jeff Keppinger didn't travel with the team to Cleveland this week and will instead have surgery on his right shoulder tomorrow. Manager Robin Ventura says Keppinger's injury has bothered him off and on all season. Reliever David Purcey will also seek a second opinion on a strained UCL in his left elbow.
