Sep 25, 2013 6:41 AM

The Neoga School Board met in special session during the month of September right before their regular board meeting took place on the 12th. The board held a hearing to discuss the Fiscal Year 2014 budget and Superintendent Charles Castle told WRJM News that a few residents expressed concern over the deficit budget.

After holding the special session meeting and discussing the Fiscal Year 2014 Budget, the board did approve the budget as part of their regular meeting agenda.

The board also discussed in their regular board meeting the approval of two new bussing requests. According to Superintendent Castle, some students will attend a program at Grace United Methodist as part of a Homework Help Program there and the other route will be to attend St. Mary's program.

A routine item in nature that was discussed was the Administrative and Staff Benefits Report that Superintendent Castle and the board always review from time to time.

The school board did approve to dissolve an AFS Student Group. The group had become inactive and the board thought it was best not to offer that extra-curricular activity anymore. The School Board did approve the transfer of those funds to the Alumni.
