>>Orioles' Machado Has Torn MPL
(Baltimore, MD) -- A sigh of relief is being exhaled from Orioles fans and the organization. A MRI revealed third baseman Manny Machado's knee injury isn't as bad as initially feared. He has a torn medial patellofemoral ligament that is expected to sideline him six-to-eight weeks. The 21-year-old has no ACL or MCL damage in his knee, and won't require surgery. The All-Star collapsed in pain after stepping on first base awkwardly in the O's 5-4 loss to Tampa Bay on Monday.
