1PM UPDATE

Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce  President and CEO Liz Winter has given her notice and is moving out of state. Chamber Board Chairperson Alan Bishop says they'll have a new leader in place pretty quickly. What kind of person have they sought out? They'd want someone like Winter.

Winter came to Geneva from the Canandaigua Chamber.

The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new leader.

Elizabeth Winter, who has been the chamber President and CEO for almost a year, is moving out of state. Winter's husband recently started a new job in Tennesee at the coporate headquarters of Cracker Barrel Restaurant and Old Country Store. Winter has accepted a job with a local firm in their human resources department. Winter announced this morning on Finger Lakes News Radio that she was leaving the job.

It's been a tough year for the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.   They had to move from their longtime home on the lakefront to make room for the new events center.  They moved into an old gas station, and then moved again to their current location in One Franklin Square in downtown Geneva.

It's not been determined if the Chamber of Commerce will move back into the new building on the lakefront.  They are planning to operate a visitors center there, but no plans for that visitors center have yet been developed.
