Store owners in Cayuga County who sell tobacco will now need a license. The county Legislature approved a law Tuesday which will require stores in the county to have a license to sell any tobacco product. Deb Mendzef is the Tobacco Program Coordinator with the Cayuga Community Health Network, and she says the new license is on top of a state permit already required.

Mendzef hopes the new license will help stop young people from smoking.

Legislators voted unanimously in favor of the law, which goes into effect on January 1st.
