Yadier Molina knocked in two runs to help the Cardinals sweep the Nationals with a 4-2 win in the finale of the three-game set from Busch Stadium. Matt Adams hit a solo home run for St. Louis, which holds a half-game lead on Atlanta for home-field advantage in the National League. Shelby Miller picked up his 15th win with six-plus innings of one-run ball. Trevor Rosenthal locked up his third save.
The St. Louis Cardinals close out the regular season at home starting tomorrow. The Cards welcome in the Chicago Cubs to Busch Stadium for three games. Lance Lynn toes the rubber in Game One against Travis Wood. Joe Kelly and Adam Wainwright close out the series against Edwin Jackson and Jeff Samardzija respectively.
