Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is suffering from a rib injury
heading into this Sunday's game against Pittsburgh in London. Ponder, speaking
with reporters Wednesday, said he was hurt during last Sunday's game against
Cleveland, but added he would try to throw during practice this week and
wouldn't be concerned about his playing status until Friday. Ponder has
completed 59 percent of his passes for 691 yards with two touchdowns and five
interceptions this season for the Vikings, who will enter Sunday's tilt with
an 0-3 record. If Ponder is unable to play Sunday, Matt Cassel would likely
make the start.
