They have a date, now Brocton and Westfield school districts are preparing for a merger vote. The districts recently learned that the State Education Commissioner set October 9th as the date for the vote. Last night, the Brocton School Board received a PowerPoint presentation about the merger according to the Observer. Centralization would direct nearly $25 million in new funding toward the Brocton and Westfield communities over 14 years according to the presentation. There will a final informational presentation, which will take place during a joint meeting for both communities on October 2nd at 7pm in the Westfield auditorium.
