Bettendorf Police and Local Banks and Credit Unions Warning of Phishing Scam

Bettendorf Police and Ascentra Credit Union are among those warning Quad Cities residents about a phone scam. According to Bettendorf Police residents have been receiving phone calls claiming to be from a bank or credit union informing the customer that their bank card has been deactivated and that they will need to give to the person on the phone the card number and pin number in order to re-activate the card. Bettendorf Police along with local banks are urging customers not to give out any information over the phone and to contact law enforcement if you receive a call asking for your banking information.
