County Board Accepts Donation For Cana Island Project

The Door County Board this morning accepted a $100,000 donation from the Door County Maritime Museum to advance restoration of the Cana Island Light Station in Bailey’s Harbor.

The money came from grants, donations and admission charges.

Over the last three years, $2.4-million have been raised for the project. An additional $200,000 is needed to complete the fundraising.

Work on the Light Station is expected to start next spring.
