Fly-In And Car Show This Weekend

St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto will host its 19th annual Open House Saturday and as usual, it includes a Fly-in and Car Show. A good number of winged machines and street machines are expected tomorrow as part of the free event for the public. There will also be a display of antique firearms on the grounds. The event runs Saturday from 10am to 4pm and is free to attend.

David Miller, the director at St. Louis Regional, says a few years ago the event expanded from airplanes and small jets to include a car show with the help of members of the Jerseyville Street Machines car club.

On Sunday, the second phase of the Open House takes aim at children, with free flights for kids ages 8 to 17 years. Those free flights for youngsters are sponsored by the EAA Chapter 864 Young Eagles. It's first come first serve for the flights, from 9am to 2pm.
