Mitchell Crash - 2007A former Illinois state trooper still can?t get his driver?s license back.  A state panel denied Matt Mitchell the opportunity to get behind the wheel again.  He lost his license back in 2010 after pleading guilty to reckless homicide.  Mitchell was driving 126 miles an hour on I-64, talking on his cell phone, and using his computer when his patrol car slammed into a vehicle carrying two sisters.

Kelli and Jessica Uhl of Collinsville, were both killed in the 2007 crash near O'Fallon.  He asked for his license to be reinstated in July, claiming he needs it to provide for his daughter and sustain his life.  He can resubmit a request every three months.  Mitchell currently lives in Texas.
