Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka says lawmakers could be paid as soon as Monday, but Governor Quinn doesn’t like that idea. He’s appealing a ruling that requires the state to pay lawmakers before they get a pension reform bill passed. And, he wants the judge to hold their money until a decision has been reached on the appeal. Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno says Quinn’s appeal is a waste of taxpayer dollars.
