Alcohol-related motorcycle crash in rural Logan County

Authorities responded to an alcohol-related motorcycle injury crash north of Logansville on County Road 21 Thursday afternoon around 1:40.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Kenneth Sims, 61, of Englewood, was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson westbound on 21 just west of County Road 24 when he lost control while approaching a curve. He applied the brakes, which caused the bike to overturn.

Sims, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries. He was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital by Quincy EMS.

Sims was cited for OVI and failure to control.

The motorcycle had minor damage.

A passerby reported the accident.

The DeGraff Fire Department assisted at the scene.
