Dozens of Volunteers from civic organizations, school groups, scout troops, and youth clubs are set to hit the beach on Seneca Lake Saturday Morning in observance of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup day . The Finger Lakes Institute is coordinating the local cleanup event on the northern shoreline. In years past, this effort has resulted in the removal of more than 300 pounds of litter and debris from the lake and shoreline. The event will takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers should meet at the Seneca Lake State Park Shelter #3 to get directions. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and a wind break layer. Children under 12 must be supervised
