Beiser Asks For Donations to Food Pantries

Hunger is an issue that affects thousands of people around the St. Louis area, and hundreds in the Riverbend. State Representative Dan Beiser (D-Alton) is encouraging residents to join in Hunger Action Month this September by participating in events aimed at increasing awareness in our communities and raising money for local food banks and pantries.

Beiser says there are many people across Illinois who are food insecure and do not always know where they will get their next meal.

Beiser comments

According to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and pantries, which observes Hunger Action Month through the month of September, 33,250 people in Madison County are food insecure.
