Last night on 102.1 FM WRKU the Southern Door Eagles ended their five game losing streak to Sturgeon Bay winning 29-28. Both teams scored on first two possessions in the game and the score going into halftime was Sturgeon Bay leading 21-12.
The second half was all Southern Door. The Eagles outscored the Clippers 17 to 7 with a Keegan Kroening 30 yard field goal on the first possession then a touchdown from Mitchel Neubauer to Mitchell Gerend for 33 yards out and then the final score came on a 30 yard touchdown run by Nolan Wagner. Defensively, the Eagles stopped the Clippers twice on fourth down and Neubauer added his third interception in two weeks.
For Southern Door both Wagner and Neubauer rushed for over 100 yards and one touchdown, and Neubauer went 6 for 11 with 113 yards with two touchdowns. Gerend and Austin Rohe had touchdown catches for the Eagles who put up 390 yards of total offense.
