The Milwaukee Brewers make it two in a row against the New York Mets last night. The 4-2 game began to pick up with a leadoff homer from Norichika Aoki thanks to a pitch from Mets’ Carlos Torres. Just a few batters down the lineup later, left fielder Khris Davis picked up one more. Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado also picked up a homer. Yovani Gallardo contributed with six solid innings on the mound.
Good news for right fielder Norichika Aoki, who found out before the game that Brewers owner Mark Attanasio told Japanese reporters that they would be picking up the outfielders one-point five million dollar option for next season.
Overall, the Brewers are closing out a troubled season with steam. They have won three straight and five of six, giving them nine victories in their last 10 road games against New York.
Game three of four gets underway this afternoon in New York at 3:10pm.
