Updated: Raiders and Wildcats tangle in Crew Stadium - Saturday soccer scoreboard (pictures included)

Raiders at Crew StadiumThe Benjamin Logan varsity boys played in Columbus Crew Stadium Saturday afternoon against Kenton.

The final score was Kenton 3 Raiders 1, but the score was second to the experience both teams had before, during, and after the game in and around the stadium. Benjamin Logan tailgated two hours before kickoff in the parking lot and Kenton made a day of it by going out to eat as a team afterwards.

The game was 0-0 until the final five minutes before half when the Raiders made a few substitutions and Kenton took advantage by scoring two quick goals before half.

The National AnthemThe second half saw Kenton go up 3-0 before the Raiders got one back when Clayton Harpest scored his first career goal on a cross from Bryce Gray.

Benjamin Logan's Tyler Tevis got the opportunity through his Sports Management class to sit in the Crew press box and announce the starters and the game.

The reserve and varsity Raiders next play at Indian Lake Monday night.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys fell at Kenton Ridge 4-0.

Sam Warye made 8 saves in goal.

The Tigers are 5-5-1. They will visit Northeastern Tuesday at 5:30.

The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers defeated Anna 3-0. 

Scoring goals for WL-S was Annika Wolfe, Morgan Freyhof, and Abigail Rabenstein.

Freyhof recorded 2 assists and Hailey Miller delivered an assist.

April Kelley registered 8 saves in goal.

The Lady Tigers are 8-2-0 (6-2-0).

Their next game is Tuesday at Northeastern at 7:30.

Jr. High

LCS Elite shut out host Benjamin Logan Gold 9-0.

The Lakers jumped out early and didn't look back with seven different players scoring: Nikolas Vance and Logan Ingle each had two goals, while Xander Vance, Ethan Pequignot, Kaleb Benny, Cole Overbey, and Jade Lewis each added a goal.

Both Vance brothers recorded two assists with Seth Leek and Landon Siebeneck adding an assist each.

David Haley and Ingle recorded the shutout as keepers.

Calvary Christian defeated Benjamin Logan Black 9-0 to improve to 10-0.

Josh Kilgore and Derek Robb each scored two goals. Tyler Reinhard, Jon Salmonowicz, Chantel Smithers, Rylan Studebaker, and Daniel Wilt each recorded a goal.

Kilgore, Reinhard, Wilt, and Lauren Barthauer each had an assist.

At Keeper, Cody Kuhn and Garrett Criner recorded the shutout.

Heiby Oil blanked All-Around Awards 8-0.

Scoring for Heiby were Kacey Middaugh (x3), Cameron Neer (x2), Jensen Stahler, Arianna Anituche, and Dylan Welch.

The goalies were Peyton Smith and Angela Lewis, who along with great defensive efforts by Ben Sailor and Morgan Brugler, got the shutout.

U12

Huntsville defeated Calvary Christian 4-2.

Huntsville jumped out early when Ashlyn Shaner found the back of the net. Rachel Davis, Derek Cline, and Amy Lonsway each added a goal with Davis recording three assists for the winners.

Cole Overbey, Chloe Burba, Austin and Ethan Parker, Matthew Risner, and Karma Williams had great defensive games.

Scoring for the Spartans were Gavin Wish and Garett Reinhard.

U10

Calvary won 2-0.

Hayden Neely and Trevor Berry scored, while Neely and Wylie Harbour defended the goal for a scoreless game.

The High Point Stars blanked the Dublin United Falcons 3-0 on Sunday.

Caleb Epp, Beau Salyer, and Connor Defibaugh each scored.

Tanner Harte recorded the shutout.

U8

Calvary 1 defeated Indian Lake A 3-1.

Gabriel Salmonowicz led the scoring for the Spartans with two goals, one of them on an assist from Abby Jenkins. Karly Penhorwood scored off of an assist by Hannah Marlow. Brooklyn Horner and Greg Jacobs led the Spartan defense.

Huntsville #2 defeated North Logan #2 5-0 to go to 4-1 on the season.

Rece Kimmel scored 3 goals, Lane Tucci scored a goal, and Ava Shroyer scored a goal for Huntsville. Kaitlyn Shaner, Chase Schaub, and Jackson Young shined on offense.

The defense held North Logan scoreless and was anchored by Dawson Finfrock, Ashlynn Biederman, Grant McPherson, Hannah Metzger, Brody Parsell, and Colby Borgerding.

2-3 grade

Domino's beat McDonald's 3-1.

Zane Gamble led the winners with a hat trick.

Blake McDonald scored for McDonald's.

Dairy Queen routed Eichholtz, Daring, and Sanford Funeral Home 11-3.

Caiden Gauntt and Troy Smith each scored 4 goals. Parker Deitsch, Tyler Tackett, and Corbin Baker each added a goal.

For Eichholtz, Daring, and Sanford, Zhatavious Alexander, Alexander VanVoorhis, and Joel Mitchell each scored a goal.

U6

Huntsville #4 defeated Indian Lake C 4-0.

Avery Pequignot scored two goals and had an assist. Kahne Ferguson and Griffin Schaub each added a goal.

Evan Wagoner, Ferguson, and Schaub recorded the shutout in the goal.

Huntsville finished the regular season with a 7-0 record.Free kick during offensive push
