The 2013 Apple N' Pork Festival is in the books and all indicators point to once again, this being a successful year.
Yesterday saw just short of 60-thousand people make their way through the city of Clinton. Clinton Police Chief Mike Reidy says the Sunday crowd was a good one. And while it was not record setting, it was still a very good turn out on what was a perfect day.
After a record setting Sunday crowd in 2012, Resident Manager of the DeWitt County Museum, Larry Buss wasn't surprised by the Sunday crowd.
The 2031 Apple N' Pork Festival saw very minimal things go wrong. Mostly minor injuries and small traffic incidents. With tens-of-thousands coming through Clinton, Buss says as long as someone is not severely hurt, things have been successful.
Buss says they will begin to plan for the 2014 Apple N' Pork Festival tomorrow. He says it will be things as simple as arranging the stage for entertainment and port-a-potties. He notes the Board for the CH Moore Homestead will likely meet in the next week or so and begin writing ideas they heard that could possibly be incorporated into next year's weekend.
