A pension deal could be looming. State Rep Elaine Nekritz tells the “Chicago Tribune” it’s very likely a vote could come as early as next month, during veto session. She’s on the ten-member committee charged with finding a fix for the state’s 100-billion-dollar pension problem.
Other members say progress had been slow and steady and weren’t quite optimistic about a fix coming so soon. Nekritz didn’t give a lot of detail about the possible solution but she says whatever it is, it’ll likely be challenged in court.
