The area unemployment figures dropped in the month of August across the area.
DeWitt County saw nearly a percent change in unemployment, as unemployment came in at 7.4%, down from 8.% in July.
Macon County unemployment remains in the double-digit threshold at 12%, but that was down from 13.1% in July.
McLean County unemployment went from 7.8% in July to 7.2% in August.
In Logan and Champaign Counties, unemployment went from 9% to 8.4% in August.
Piatt County's August unemployment came in at 8%, down from 8.7% in July.
And Sangamon County had the area's lowest unemployment rate at 7.1%, down from 8% in July.
The state's highest unemployment rate was in Alexander County, at 12.5%, which coincidentally, had the state's only gain in unemployment, at a half-percent.
The largest drop in unemployment was in Hamilton County, which dropped nearly two-percent, going from 8.8% in July, to 7% in August.
The state's lowest unemployment rate was in Brown County, at 4.5%.
Illinois' unemployment rate was at 9% for August. The national average unemployment was 7.3%.
