Kay Not Optimistic About Veto Session

Sep 30, 2013 6:59 PM

Doug Jenkins - WBGZ Radio

While there are some reports that a pension deal could be looming in Springfield, State Representative Dwight Kay isn't so sure.  The Glen Carbon Republican has not heard of any solid plan to address the mounting bills brought about by the mounting costs.  Some House members say progress had been slow and steady and weren't quite as optimistic about a fix coming so soon.

Kay says he falls in that second group.

Kay comments

The unfunded pension liability grows by $17 million each day which Kay says makes this the most pressing matter in the state.  Legislators will gather in Springfield for the Veto Session October 22-24 and again November 5-7.
