Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham says a new album from the group isn't out of the question. But he tells "M Music & Musicians" it all depends on Stevie Nicks. He explains that she "needs to come to the table with some material," and he's not sure she will. It's not that Nicks isn't writing. Buckingham explains that Stevie "had a wonderful experience" making her last solo album, "In Your Dreams." He says he suspects that consequently "she's feeling a bit protective and territorial," and might not want to give her new songs to the band. Lindsey adds that he can "totally relate to that."
Buckingham admits that it's never been easy to make a Fleetwood Mac album. He says the way the band operates is "always a political minefield," and "someone is always causing trouble" -- confessing that sometimes he's the troublemaker. Fleetwood Mac did deliver some new music this year. The group released the four-track EP "Extended Play" back in the spring. And after spending the spring and summer performing throughout North America, Fleetwood Mac is now on tour in Europe. The band's next show is set for Manchester, England on Tuesday.
