Train Crash Under Investigation

Oct 1, 2013 6:20 AM

There are more questions than answers about a Chicago train crash that left dozens injured.  Officials say it doesn’t appear there was anyone operating the train when it slammed into the back of another just before 8:00 yesterday morning.

That’s a mystery in itself, but authorities are also trying to figure out how the train got out of the rail yard, how it slipped past at least four trigger points that should’ve stopped it, and how no one in the CTA command center noticed what was going on.  Police initially believed the train was hijacked but the CTA later refuted that idea.
