The Mattoon Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the 2013 Business Expo, which takes place on Thursday inside the Cross County Mall from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Executive Director of the Chamber Mary Wetzel told WRJM News that this is the 13th Year the Business Expo will take place and everything is finally coming together.
Doors to the Expo open up at 10:00 am, giving residents the opportunity to get all of the necessary information about a business that they didn't know was open in town. But, according to Wetzel, the Expo is an opportunity for businesses to network with each other.
From 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, the Taste of the Expo gives patrons the opportunity to taste samples from fourteen of Mattoon's finest restaurants that showcase a wide variety of foods. Beginning at 1:00 pm and lasting until the end of the Expo is the Job Fair. This portion of the Expo allows manufacturing and industry businesses to recruit employees.
Wetzel told WRJM News that something new to this Business Expo is the Our Town Gallery. Several businesses will showcase locally manufactured products found and used in households and businesses throughout the country.
